    Copystar 3501i paper feed rollers?

This one has me puzzled. I work mostly on Kon/Min but one of my customers also has Copystar 3501i and ask if I would look at it. Was misfeeding so ordered paper feed rollers. When I went to install the rollers were different then what the service manual showed and was sent to me. As per the service manual I was expecting to remove paper feed units and replace the P/U, feed & sep rollers but the rollers in the machine were different and were the kind you could just remove paper tray, reach up inside, squeeze tab and remove rollers. Much easier if I had the right rollers! Was there a modification or something?

Attached is pic of machine ID tag.

    Thanks in advance

There's an old style feed head that's all plastic and it uses a different feed tire than the metal feed head. I think you're looking for these feed tires.

Did you look at the 3500 manual instead of the 3501 manual? The newer 3501 has the feed rollers with the tab for easy removal, like Billy's picture on the older 3500i you had to remove the whole feed unit and the tires were held in place by metal clips. I guessing you have the 3500 feed rollers.

You'll get better results from the standard orange KM rollers. Just press them onto the old hubs. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I odered the CS3501i rollers from Precision Roller with just inputting the model #. They are usually pretty good with correct parts, but not this time.

After looking at manual I have it is for the 3500i not 3501i

          Thanks

This series actually had 3 different styles. Early ones used what you got from Precision. The middle ones used rollers similar to those pictured above, but without the tab; they were held on with plastic e-clips. And the later ones used what's pictured above. You can do as mentioned and swap the rubber roller onto the existing hub, since you already ordered them.

How did the rollers look? Any jam code?

The rollers didn't look that bad and I couldn't get it to jam. When I go back will get the jam codes. Thanks

I have done what blackcat4866 suggests. That is, press on the orange Konica feed rollers onto the hubs of the Kyocera feed rollers. Works great. If I don't do all three rollers, I at lease replace the retard feed roller with a Konica orange feed roller. Works much better and lasts waaaaay longer.

Yeah, I had to do that not too long ago. I left the call incomplete for parts and I'm glad I did. The Kyocera rollers lasted only 50K before going flat. =^..^=

I thought I saw somewhere that Kyocera was offering an orange resist roller.

Maybe cause I sobered up, I cant find that reference.

                            Yikes!!!

I looked up that part number 302V694150 PARTS ROLLER SET SP and they are listed for $50.95. That's a little steep even for a long lasting orange roller.

It would be more cost effective to buy Konica feed rollers (P/N A00J563600) from Precision Roller for $14.95 a pop.
