Assuming I've understood correctly, at least if you're using Firefox, about:config has section security.tls.version.min that you can set to 1. Should let you access the device from browser after that. Chrome probably has a similar setting, as well as any other browser, but I'm not too familiar on those.
I have tried with KM viewer but have the exact same problem. Same messages about SSL etc.
Also with Firefox i can not set it to 1 . Computer doesn;t give me this option. On the contrary i can set it in other's clients computer but not this one.
I have tried with Twain drivers and to scan through Xnview program (with this computer i scan with a HP scaner with no problem ) but message "connection failed" (i have selected kyocera twain driver in the program).
Any idea?
Can you elaborate what does "Computer doesn't give me this option." means? An error? What kind of? And what's the exact error you get when you're trying to connect to the machine via browser?
Going to need details in order to try to figure this out. i.e. if it' SEC_ERROR_REUSED_ISSUER_AND_SERIAL it's a whole different fix, one that I don't remember out from the top of my head. I just remember occasionally seeing this error and using a different browser lets me bypass it so I haven't bothered to fix it myself. Has to do something with the router or browser (IIRC) regenerating their security certificates instead of keeping the old one.
Also is it necessary for the client to even access the command center on this particular machine? Also you could use another PC, go into the command center, into the security settings, network security and enable whatever TLS necessary for that computer to be able to connect. Technically this does leave you more vunerable if you leave outdated TLS out there. In my opinion, in most cases it's not a big deal and doesnt matter but just something to keep in mind.
The easiest method I have found is... I kept my old laptop with Windows 7 and I use it to go into Internet Explorer to turn on SSL after updating the firmware with a USB drive. Otherwise it is a pain trying to get a modern browser to work.
