4053ci fuser jam (wraps around roller)

Paper wrapping around fuser roller more frequent than before. Only 170K total on meter. Replaced fuser and still wrapping occurs. Firmware updated. Ran DV refresh, and cleaned machine. Looking to possibly turn Ecoprint to reduce toner fill, if customer ok. Anyone having fuser wraps on these?
    Thanks

Has the leading edge void or trailing edge void been adjusted down to nothing? On color machines I like to see 4 - 6mm leading edge void. The heavier the fill, the more void you need.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

OEM brand spankin' new fuser, might have had it on the shelf for a while so probably can't warranty it

Paper is stored in the cassette tray, and Office shelf, nothing out of the ordinary like next to a swimming pool or in the bathroom with a shower.

I did not think to check the lead edge void, will definitely so and even stretch that out a bit to 6 or more mm, thanks bc. Memories are coming back that I might have had this issue before, prob did.

o yes, OEM toner too. thanks for the feedback yall

Unless things have changed Kyocera has 3 year warranty
or it's reached its life as long as the maintenance kits are installed ontime

Is the customer running images with full coverage? IE photos or full bleed?

Increase leading edge . Also clean the parh of the paper . Try with an other toner.I presume that upper picker fingers are ok.

The adjustment you are after is U034 Start position. Rarely, actually never, have I seen a machine from factory with this correct. This adjustment is effectively your lead edge void, and is the only adjustment you have for print jobs. The lead edge void is always smaller than rear edge, and on heavy coverage invariably leads to fuser wrap. Try setting the start position somewhere between 0.9 and 1.5 on all 12 cassette/speed adjustments. Use a test page with full edge to edge solid print. I keep one on my USB key.
This adjustment has fixed every machine of ours that experienced fuser wrap.
Note, from our experience and several hundred machines in the field, these fuser are very robust and should run without issue for the full 600k kit life.

This may seem like a bizarre fix but it has worked for us a few times, change the emulation of the KX printer driver being used, normally this is defaulted to pcl xl try either pcl or kpdl (pcl normally works for our customers)
