    White print 2554ci

    Hello everybody

I have a problem quite infrequently on a 2554ci but the customers call me and I don't know what I can do.
When the customer copy an document, the paper take out of DP correctly and the print is completly white

The DP is an 7160 and the copy is just in front and not the both sides. (Yes the paper is correctly put un DP ).

    The 3 time I came, I don't observed this error (Since installation, it's arrived +/- 6 times).

I just update firmware (with take off ESKIP.on) 4 month ago... and my customer called me today and I don't know what I can do.

According to them, it's arrived just in copying and not scanning... (color or black, A4).

    Have you an idea ?

I haven't worked on the 54 series, but I've heard of weird issues on older versions. Reseat the connectors between the DSPF and the main body, especially if there is a small PWB for the DSPF that mounts on the Main PWB, reseat and blow out connectors for that, too. After that, gotta start with replacing the DSPF pwb, then if there is a small driver PWB for that DSPF, then the Main PWB.

We have also notice that when you tighten up the screws on the small PWB that mounts to the main PWB you have hold the board when you tighten them down or the board will cock a little causing strange issues. The mount holes have a lot of play.

We've seen this on a couple of 4003i machines, the drive belt for the scanner was too tight, I had to loosen up the motor mounts and give the belt a little slack.

The scanner may be stalling under the white level strip.

                    image.png

Could be optical sensor number 6

Try cleaning it and pay attention to the light or unintentional impact on it

                    Good luck

For what it is worth I feel it should be stated that it is easy for a user to place the original incorrectly and copy the blank side. I have witnessed it, I have done it. I am not saying this is the fact of the matter but rather a possibility.
