    taskalfa 250ci colour issues

    Hi all,
First post and im thinking its a hard one.
I have a 250ci thats done 14k with colour problems.
the final copy wether its printed or off the glass has an appearance of orange peel. its difficult to explain. the colour appears grainy and slightly faded. rough looking.
    any ideas?
    firmware?
    blow it up?
thanks in advance im kinda stumped with this.

Can you upload a JPG for us to have a look at?

Yeah, scan an image of your issue. The first thing that I would check, regardless of number of prints, is to check sim U131. If the value for any color differs from the target by 25 points of more, you'll probably need to replace that developing unit. You can try a developer refresh, but if it's that far out it probably won't help. Run some U089 Gray test patterns in each of C, M, Y, & K. That will help to narrow it down.

If your customer is running long continuous runs of 15% or more fill, there are a series of adjustments to help maintain developer density. Come back with more details. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Are you saying that it only happens on the last copy of a set? or is every page like that?

Your U131 values are fine. Developer density is not an issue.
Are you printing onto special media? And using the appropriate media type settings?

I'll be watching for your scans. =^..^=

I'm thinking primary charge BK (302H793400). Sometimes cleaning with glass cleaner helps, sometimes not. Never use any alcohol or any oil based cleaner. Plain water or glass cleaner only. =^..^=

make sure you have the new version 8 firmware installed, taskapha has had ongoing problems with toner density and toner supply rate and the new version 8 firmware seems to have got to the bottom of this problem.

Actually firmware v. 9.00 just came out a few days ago. Firmware upgrades arrive at ~ once a month. =^..^=

Thanks to all for the information and advice...
I found that after factory resets replacing transfer units and gutting and cleaning the machine i found the charge and transfer voltages were played with before we recieved the machine so i got a copy of all the settings from another machine and copied them one after the other. i also refit the old transfer unit and did a copy...
                              Perfect!
                              Sharp solid colours...
machine was sold 2 hours later
