[Error Code] stuck on welcome screen

working on a copystar 300i. The unit stays stuck on the welcome screen, does a self diagnosis and gives me a F000 code. Either the op panel pwb or the main pwb. Tried flashing it up with firmware via usb and the back of the unit. Nothing. I am leaning towards the op pwb. Any suggestions?

You might try re-seating the connectors on the op panel and the main PWB. Otherwise, I wouldn't have done anything differently, and came to the same conclusions. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Did you go through the flowchart step by step? There is a flowchart available from KMAconnect (I think) that shows the troubleshooting process for this very problem.
But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

Go with what Jules gave you. Try cleaning the DIMM's with an eraser & reseating.
        Hope that helps !

I have a machine T/A-250ci stuck on the welcome screen, along with the display not lighting. You can barely see the welcome. Nothing cycles or turns other than the fan on the main PCB. Tried the dimms and hdd. Also started unplugging the connectors from the Power Supply and the one for the fuser signals going to the Engine PCB gets the display lit up when unplugged. Tried Engine PCB and even a Fuser in case it was shorted. Goes no further than the welcome. Does not code out. The firmware or boot switch did not help. Nor did our tech rep or the hotline. Going to try Power supply and then Main. Any other ideas?

I'd call the hotline and get a special firmware. It's Engine only with some extraneous controls files. If that loads successfully, reload the complete 10.00 combined.

This procedure worked for me back when 5.0 combined was the gold standard. PM me if you want the files. Be warned, you have 5 or 6 firmware upgrades to do if you start that low. =^..^=

Is there a set number of firmware versions you can skip when updating. Had a version 8 going CF248 that wouldnt clear & went straight to 10.
              Hope that helps !

                For Saturn Only:
I haven't experienced it myself, but I've heard stories of crashed engine firmware as a result of jumping as many as (2) versions (on Saturn only). Now I just do them all. 45 minutes per version.

Sure it's a pain. But it beats all the down time waiting for new DIMMs. =^..^=

thanks for all your help. I got a hold of the flowchart on the website. It was the 2 gb memory that was bad. Got it to work when i changed the memory.

I hate to bump this thread but I have the same problem with a TA-300i. Replaced the OP PWB, Main PWB, then going by the chart referenced earlier replaced the DIMM and @ GB memory and won't get past the welcome screen. One thing of note is if you reload firmware via CF card it will load but no memory light flashing on the op panel and after about 45 mins which I assume it's trying to load the MMI it will pop up with

                    Panel CPU error

                    Server ip not found
                    Complete file not found
                    PanelEnd file not found

The regional rep and I have downloaded the firmware numerous times from KMAconnect as well as the ftp server and still getting nowhere.

Mine will be fixed tomorrow. Apparently the fax board was popping DIMM's. Take the fax and the expansion memory out and the machine boots fine.
