    300ci exit issues

We started experiencing issues with this machine after the MK-865A was done. Not sure if it's just coincidence. With the finisher installed, we get jam 80 sometimes with nothing in the machine. We also see that the finisher tray A is full when it's not, plus the odd behavior of the finisher in the video. I disconnected the finisher. The customer called back & said the machine had stopped. I went back & it said the top tray was full (inside main output) I flipped the sensor & it cleared. This has been happening lately now. I pulled the fuser to see if anything was pinched, but didn't see anything wrong. My next thought will be to put the original fuser back in, but any ideas are welcomed.
    Thanks,
    Hope that helps !

Would you, perchance be getting C8140 codes? I saw something similar on a DF-710 a couple of weeks ago. After 4 or 5 recalls I eventually found that the belt tension on the belts that elevate tray A was excessive. When the worm gear drive was removed, the tray just sat there at the top of the travel.

I just loosened the screws that hold the tensioners, and let the springs set the belt tension, then snugged the screws. I haven't had any recalls yet ... maybe it'll help you. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I'll have to pull the event log, but I'm pretty sure you're correct. The thing that's throwing me, is getting the tray full on the MFP when the finisher is disconnected, & getting it on the finisher when it is connected. Thanks as always !!
      Hope that helps !

The other thing I forgot to mention, is to make sure that your guy flashed both the machine combined firmware, and the option firmware. Since machine version 10.0/option version 1.12 they are now seperate flashes. It's possible that option 1.11 is not compatible with machine combined 10.0.

My machine has been bugging the shit out of me. I can stand there and run the machine for two hours with no errors, no problems. Then a few hours after I leave, more errors. And I can also confirm that they are new errors, in sim U000/Error Report. As of today, it's 10 days without a recall. I think I may have something.

Good luck with your finisher. =^..^=

I tried the springs on both the front & rear to no avail. We ended up bringing the machine in as the customers patience was running thin. One of the techs found a spring that was broken on the finisher. I haven't seen it yet to give you an update, but he said it's then one that is on the arm for the tray sensor. He also said one of the connectors wasn't plugged in all the way in the exit section. I'll try to update this with the part number.
            Hope that helps !

That was going to be my guess. Post Maintenence....always the most dangerous time for airplanes and copiers.

Hey Guys, the fix for the tray error code of c8140 or the tray A dropping on you is due to a broken spring in the exit area of the DF710. It can not lift the tray back to home position due to spring being broken that goes to the plunger on the solenoid. the part# 303c106062 and is located in the parts section EXIT SECTION 2 ITEM#27 page 8. will have to take rear panel off and slide D5 section out to be able to change it out. Hope this helps, JE DAVIS
