[CQ] Taskalfa & Voyager black smudge

looks like a dot, then spread a bit toward trailing edge.

Anyone can edu-mah-cate me on how and why this happens as well as the remedy?

I call these "comet-trails", since they have a teardrop shape that fades out towards it's tail.

It's overtoning. Replace the developing unit of the color of your spots, then do a color calibration. =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The new TASKAlfa firmware version 11 addresses the problem. It also says there will be a bulletin to address it. It could be the cleaning motors also. Have fun doing those !!
      Hope that helps !

Eh...firmware is no help in this matter.

Don't really have a reason to replace devs if happens intermittently.

        Any adjustemnt I could do?

Nope. Overtoned developer cannot be adjusted leaner, just replaced. Guaranteed, it will get worse.

Oh, An interesting bit of trivia:
On VoyagerE's, overtoning cyan developer can cause magenta comet-trails (or any other color). Look at sim U131 to identify any colors more than 25 points different than the reference. Those are the ones in need of replacement.

Yep, replace the DV unit & upgrade the firmware to keep it from coming back.
            Hope that helps !

Just spent a Day with a Kyo rep, they call it Toner Bombs or something like that, that is what he told me, Replace the DV Unit (of the color of the Toner Bomb) and update to Firmware 11, As stated earlier, Firmware 11 compensate for this. I dont remember if the DV unit will use a new number or the same, I just sent him an E-mail (I have a client that is doing just that and I need to order it)
