Ricoh 1045 jams every copy every tray

This 1045 started jamming on occasion then it became more often and now it shows a paper jam and there is no paper in the path. It does it from every tray. I replaced the pickup tires and still the same. The sensors seem clean and I just cant find the problem its driving me crazy. Any ideas anyone
    please please ?

Is this a 2 or 4 tray system?
My next step would be to replace clutches.

Check the jam counters to see which one is being tripped. If no paper jam is being recorded you have a faulty door/lid switch. The switch opens, the copier stops, the switch closes, the copier tries to re-start but because there is now a piece of paper where it shouldn't be it says paper jam.
Been there done that many, many times! My bet is the switch on the bridge unit cover.

In my experience it's always been the door switch on the finisher. Shake the finisher door a little and watch for door open messages.

I don't know how much power they're trying to draw through it, but if you pry it apart the contacts are always burnt to a crisp. I just scrape the contacts clean (and flat) and put it back in service.

Feed and transport clutches are also a common failure on higher click machines. Like Lagonda said - look at the jam counters (I always print SMC report 5990-004) and see where that leads.

If the bypass jams also, check the registration sensor to make sure there are no small chunks of paper stuck in the finger spring keeping it from going to true home.
We have all run into the chunk of paper holding the finger out because the customer pulled down on the paper instead of up.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

check your smc,if bypass jams your reg area got problem-clutch.test A4 landscap if all tray still jams-clutch and check sensor.if tray 1 problem sure other tray can't used so check feed unit 1 than check fusing pressure roller.i also had this problem-clutch and press roller problem.

If you have the additional two trays on this machine, check the bottom right hand door as these tend to not close properly sometimes, causing all sorts of problems. They usually don't quite close towards the rear of the machine.
