This code can also be caused by something really sneaky. At the bottom of the paper transfer unit there's a bar with two wedges on the end that stop the unit moving too far forward, allowing you to close the side door without having to push the unit back manually. Either side of this bar there is a spring. Check to see they haven't been dislodged.
Also, the green earth wire on the PTR assembly can break causing SC204.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

Check the Green Ground wire that runs from the right-hand door to the frame of the machine. We have had a ton of calls for that wire breaking and causing mirror motor codes.

Are you using the correct Transfer roller?

There is a white ground wire that attaches to the metal frame part of the Transfer case and the other side is screwed down by the sensor in the case, is this wire missing or not screwed down?

The one time I had this problem, it was that white wire was detached at one end.

They are being stolen for their platinum content. The platinum is also why they are so damned expensive to replace.

The most common thing I have to reference onsite is error codes, which I have on my phone. I have a laptop in the car, I just don't need it most of the time. Half my time is in the office, and my PC is handy for these things.
