    FUSER UNIT RICOH MPC2003

    Hello Everyone,
I have a customer who uses Ricoh mpc5503 and the Fuser Unit sleeve got damaged. Trying to swap fuser unit from 2003 to 5503 unit doesn't fit in. What could be the problem?? The option now is to transfer sleeve from 2003 to 5503.
    Has anyone experienced this before??

have never tried this crossing, but it must be a hard job, I don't think it's okay, if your problem is the budget and it is not electrically damaged, you can do the minimum wage, just replace the sleeve film, and the pressure roller, try a couple, and I had no problems, with about 100 euros you can manage.
however, the pressure roller is the same, but the heater has different codes

I will swap the fuser sleeve from the 2003 to 5503 if that's the case. I wonder whh Ricoh did it that you cross change fuser unit from 2003 to 5503 but uses same sleeves and pressure roller.

The sleeve unit is physically different between the two and the lamps are different wattages.

I use the same sleeve for all the xx03 series.

In what way did yours 'not fit'?

They use same sleeves. I what I mean is if one has 03series machines you can easily interchange fuser unit without changing anything from each other.

You can use the 5503 sleeve in all 03 models, but it's not advisable to use the one from the slower devices in the 4503/5503 as the lamps are a lower wattage and likely to blow. The fuser units are different and will not fit in the wrong model

You're talking about just the D150 sleeve, and not the entire fusing unit, am I correct?

Yes I carry the d150 sleeve assy but all the other parts for the metis series ie mpc2003 to 6003 are the same part numbers apart from the sleeve and the bottom cover on the fuser assy

My guess is it got damaged from all that " counterfeit" 300 g/m2 paper.

No, this is another customer whose 2003 has a PCB issues, so trying to interchange fuser unit from 2003 to 5503 doesn't fit in.

I thought of these also. I my thought is if the D150 assy lamp will not blow since am interchanging from 2003 to 5503 which is higher model.
