mpc3003 offset (ghost image) after sleeve unit replaced

    Hoi,
    Selecting medium thick, problem solved.
Firmware downloaded via old my-ricoh.com (not octopus, demand for account today).
Is this engine firmware up to date: D1475504F 1.42:08 16/5/2020 ?
Thank you (again) for your help.

If this happened after you replaced the fuser sleeve retrace your steps.

Also what part number sleeve did you replace?

We buy many machines from auctions, so we don't know their history, and mostly they have these weird troubles.
But in fact only on the mpc3003 series, we have no trouble with all other models.

Only time we have had the new belts not fusing is due to a broken lamp, or the thermal fuse needing resetting.

If this would be the case, the machine would give an error code like sc542 or something like that.

Re: mpc3003 offset (ghost image) after sleeve unit replaced

                    UPDATE
Medium thick paper setting will solve all problems at once, without replacing anything.
If setting on normal paper, and replacing pressure roller, sleeve roller and exit guide (bent) will solve the color smear (smudge?), but not the black offset (solid black).
Offset will be less (but not totally solved) using parallel black toner.
                    => fusing matter.
But i already tested with higher fusing temp, no good.
                    Firmware is up to date.

Did you perform the procedures listed in tech bulletin 30 as MGA suggested? It specifically addresses this issue.

                        Sorry, forgotten to mention.
                        Yes i did, no good.
Just 5 minutes ago a customer complained (again) for smear.
I have refurbished the F.U. with a new sleeve and new PR.
                        No good!
                        Firmware is up to date.
Medium thick seems to be the only solution so far.
Do you encounter the same problem?

Can you go into service mode and find the fuser settings for the different types of paper? Just take the settings for medium thick and apply them to plain paper.
