      Toner remaining in each bottle is stored on the RFID chip on each bottle. All you might lose are the numbers for previous bottles.

          Maintenance counters are not cleared when backing up and neither is the toner level.

            Then that make sense for leasings and start billing from zero. On some smaller devices when you replace main board for example and they don't have other boards to store backup of counters neither toner chips in fact all become zeros. Total counters, consumables l, toners. Thanks for answering emilio

              My experience with having to replace defective NVram is that machine totals and maintenance logs are lost. That is why at the end of a service call we were required to print not only the Counter sheet but also logging data and non-defaults. Those were maintained in the machine service file for at least one year.
