[Noise] Ricoh im c6000 - loud noise near fuser unit

    Hi,

I am having trouble figuring out the cause of this noise that occurs intermittently. I have replaced the ITB Unit, Fuser unit, and PCDU:K due to PM.

After replacement noise is still occurring. No error codes and machine is working fine, but this noise is painful.

Has anyone come across this issue before?

    Thank you

I would start by running output checks in SP mode to help narrow down the issue.

Run each motor until you hear the noise, from there check the service manual to find out what unit that motor runs.

if you want test sp-804 with the fuser unit, remember of put out side the waste toner bottle from machine, otherwise you destroy the sleeve unit

What kind of noise is this? Is it a squeaking, a moaning , a rattling or chattering noise...service manual helps you to describe it, at least!

Polo-022 If you click on the google thumbnail and request access I'll be able to allow you to see the video. I would see moaning noise.

copier tech I have run output checks and the noise does not occur.

luca72 Thanks for the RTB. I did see that, but I have a brand new fuser unit part no.D0BQ4025 and the noise is the same.

Check the exit section. I have had the heat from the fusing unit boil the oil out of the cintered bushings and build up a lacquer film on the shaft. Initial symptom is noise. Eventually it will seize and cause jamming.

based on the sound. i suspect gearbox for fusing. can service it, lubricate the shaft with grease.
when you remove it, manually spin the fusing motor, to check whether it make similar noise.

azzz...I've heard it before, it's happened to me before, I just don't remember, I called it "camel fart" I have to dig into my memory, so the fuser is new, and it did it before too, did I understand correctly?
try anyway to free run the fuser unit with sp804-fuser, remember first of put off of the side the waste toner bottle for not activate the lamp
