[Error Code] Ricoh Pro C7100 Error Code SC202-01

    Hi everyone,
We recently purchased a used Ricoh Pro C7100, and I’ve just finished assembling it. However, when I power it on, I’m getting the following error: SC202-01.

From what I can gather in the manual, this refers to:
SC202-01 – Polygon Motor: ON Timeout Error (Bk)

I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me understand what might be causing this or point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions!

    Best regards,
    Sebastian Markussen

Check fuse FU3 on PSU2. If it's ok, check the fuses on each power supply.

        Hi Davel,

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve been looking through the manual, and from what I can see, it’s number 12 that needs to be replaced — is that correct?
If so, I can't quite figure out from the manual the best way to access the motor. Is it from the front of the printer or the back?

          Hi anothertech,

Yesterday I tried to replace the FU3 fuse, but had no luck. I'll try going through the other fuses as well. Thanks!

Try swapping the mirror motor with one of the other mirror motors, if they are the same part number. Got to go down through the top to get at them.

Hey, I thought you were going to swap it with the other one to troubleshoot?

                        Hi Anothertech,

Since I had to disassemble the entire color station to get to it, I thought: why not just buy a new motor instead of swapping them, rebuilding it, and then disassembling everything again? Hopefully, the new motor will do the trick. And if not, I figured—since it wasn’t that expensive—it wouldn’t hurt to have a spare motor lying around.

Hope that makes sense! I really appreciate your help and guidance with all this. Thanks again for taking the time to assist me.

                          Hi Anothertech,

Thanks again for your help. I received the new motor and swapped it in, but unfortunately, the error is still there.

Do you have any other ideas on what I could try to help pinpoint the issue?

Check output of PSU2. Also check connections from IPU to laser.

                              Hi Anothertech,
Thanks so much! I went through the PTOP manual and saw how the polygon motor should be connected. I also noticed that the CN556 connector is for the polygon motor, and to my surprise, it was completely unplugged from the IPU. I'm not sure how or why that happened.

Now, however, I'm facing a new issue: I'm getting paper jams. The paper doesn't seem to feed through properly, and I keep getting a jam error. When I open the right drawer, the paper just lies there completely loose. I tried blowing dust off all the sensors, but it doesn’t seem to help.

It almost feels like the paper isn’t being gripped correctly—maybe due to a sensor issue or a motor problem? I'm not sure. Occasionally I also get an error related to the shift roller motor (SC586-21), and other times it's the registration timing motor (SC586-20). But when I restart the machine, the error disappears.

Do you have any ideas what could be causing this behavior? Or would it be better if I created a new post for this separate issue?

                              Thanks again for your help!
