I can't narrow down the sound, it is a fast ticking sound only while printing. Machine only has 10K on it. Anyone seen this before?

I have heard of it, good chance the noise is coming from the drum. -

Re: Ricoh IM 350 ticking noise while printing, does not sound like the fuser
It is the drum unit, I swapped in a used up one and no ticking.
The drum unit only has 10K on it out of a 70K yield. So, if anyone knows what the drum unit is the cause please let me know. If it has happened to me it probably will happen to someone else down the road...
Thanks again!Comment

Re: Ricoh IM 350 ticking noise while printing, does not sound like the fuser
I think I know what it is. The machine when it was ticking had a P501 Drum in it. Not sure who put it in there, I inherited the machine.
The drum that the IM 350 calls for is the D0A4-2021, which costs twice as much. But it does not tick.
So, something about the P501 causes the tick but it works, so not sure what it could be. It is irritating to a customer so the P501 is not a good solution to saving $75. Unless it can be modified.
I am going to test with another P501 when I get one to double check.
Then if it ticks i will know for sure. Then will try to see why. They look identical in every way. Might be internal.Comment

Re: Ricoh IM 350 ticking noise while printing, does not sound like the fuser
Hey I purchased another brand new P501 Drum and it ticks as well. I put the D0A4-2021 Ricoh Drum back in and no ticking. The P501 Drum says on the box it is for the IM 350. Maybe a bad batch of P501s?
This is causing me a huge inconvenience!

I tend to stay away from these as they are brutal with skewed scanning. I will ask the guys tomorrow about ticking with the handful we have in the field.Comment
