that's a print job problem in 99% - check if the MFP is functional without network connection, next step is testing with your laptop + direct connection.

Some of the ususal causes: WSD port usage / crappy class drivers / browser printing......

Firmware update should help. Type in "ricoh firmware update tool" into google. Download and run the software. It's free and easy.

A firmware update may help, but switch the device off, disconnect from the network, power back on, does it come ready? Can you copy?
Now switch it off again, reconnect it to the network, open all the paper trays, and power back on, if it's a print job that the device cannot print (corrupt job, or printing direct from a web browser), you should be able to delete the job(s).
If that doesn't work, check the print driver(s), a recent Windows update decided to change the drivers to Microsoft IPP Class drivers, on an IPP port. Change it to the correct Ricoh driver, on a standard TCP/IP port

as Debs1964 suggested, I would also add in tools user> printer setting> auto delete job with error = on
n.b. may need to go around pc, to manually delete print jobs, customers when they see it doesn't print, they keep insisting ... LOL

I would also add that before deleting the job see if you can identify the computer that it is coming from and that type of job it is. I frequently found it was someone trying to print from a website such as an online betting site or fantasy sports site.

There are a few ways you can approach the SC899 error as other have stated.

My method is to first unplug the LAN cable, turn on DHCP then plug the LAN cable back in to allow the device to obtain a new IP address.

When it comes to ready with no error update ALL the firmware files (not just the package)

Once the updates have completed set the original IP address back the device should then print out the job(s) causing the issue.

My apologize....but if the PC spool dont flush, or delete the job, when the PC repoint the mc online, the corruptes data dont re-crash the controller?

The latest firmware can compensate for some, but not all, bad print jobs. If it allows the user to print their jobs out that is the best outcome, if not then delete the job(s) and update drivers. In any case there will always be some jobs that can cause fatal errors for some copiers/printers.

If you already have the latest firmware, the ricoh mc, skip the same version

I second all this...100% of the time for me it was a bad print job from someone in the office.

                      1) Reset/Cancel all jobs on the MP C3004 itself
                      2) Power Down Machine
                      3) Track down the culprit, hopefully there aren't many users, and clear their print q (you should see the bad job in there)
                      4) Reboot the machine
                      5) Make some money possibly
