[Error Code] SC 665-02 (MP C2504ex)

Guys, have you encountered this kind of error? Updating the firmware is not possible. The SP mode becomes Chinese language. I already replaced BCU and IOB. I removed all the toners and disconnected the development units but still same error is showing in the display. Do you think the NVRAMs in the controller board are corrupted?

It is more likely to be a bad connection between the BCU and the imaging IOB. See 6.12.5 ISOLATION DIAGRAM OF SC663, 664, 665, 667, 668, AND 670-01 in the service manual.

I have not tried yet to replace the flex cable which connects the BCU and IPU. Is it the connection you are referring to?

According to user, there was a sudden power outage in their office. When the power went back, the SC 665-02 error showed in the machine display. When I come to check it, I restarted the machine several times then SC 682 appears. I cleaned the toner supply unit and the machine was working. I thought i resolved the error. The following day the user called me up again and he said there was SC 665-02 error again.

There should be a button to toggle through SP mode languages. If I remember correctly it is top right next to the Exit button. Only Available on the main SP menu.

I've read in other forums the sc665-02 and the machine displaying in Japanese can be caused by the Transport IOB or the ribbon cable running between that and the Imaging IOB. Might be worth a look.

It's also sometimes caused by defective toner bottle chips.

Problem solved. The error is resolved by replacing the FFC (D2445372) that connects BCU and IOB
