    MP C3003 WIM and SMB issues. Tried everything.

    I have a problem that has been raised here with several models of machines, but no solution has helped. Overnight, the MPC3003 stopped sending scans via SMB. Only a file of 0 bytes is created. In addition, the WIM does not load. I started by updating the fimrware, the latest from RICOH. I checked the settings in service mode, everything is as it should be. I connected via telnet to check the suggested settings. I probed several browsers and several computers. I connected an unprotected laptop without a firewall directly with a cable to the copier. I backed up NVRAM and then did a "memory clear ALL". Still nothing. I replaced the HDD. No change. Could it be the fault of the controller? I have run out of ideas. The device prints normally and sends scans via e-mail.

    Have you updated the firmware to the latest to ensure that SMBv.1 has been disabled?
    Coz it sounds like an SMB version mismatch to me.

        I know about the problems with SMB. The machine has SMB 2 and 3 enabled, and on Windows PCs I have restored the SMB 1.0 option. I have access to Ricoh's Octopus portal, where the latest firmware is available. As I said, access to WIM is also gone.

          What version of windows are you using i have seen some windows 11 updates turn network to public it needs to be set on private

            I also know the problem with the public and private network. This is not it. My service laptop runs on Windows 7 and has no firewall. As I wrote WIM stopped working, no errors, just a timeout.

                Re-flash all of the firmware modules. You have a corrupt software module somewhere.

                If the issue was an SMB version you wouldn't get any file created.

                  Odd stuff & WIM won't load... sounds like this "IEEwhatever Authentification" setting in admin settings is active.

                      If you Wireshark the connection attempt, you will have information to go on instead of poking around in the dark.

                        That's what I'll do, I'll pick up the machine from the customer and check at work how the "conversation" between the interfaces looks like.

                          And if the problem as actually with customer location you resolve nothing other than that the problem is not with the the C3003. DO you even know what Wire Shark is?

                            He has ruled out the client network being the issue because he connected a laptop direct to the copier & has the same issue.
