    [CQ] IMC3000 image quality

    hello
I have several devices with this problem.
When I print on thick paper (280gr) in duplex, the second page comes out with a lot of toner failure, which is not transferred to the paper. Only front transfer well.
If anyone can help I'd appreciate it, as Ricoh just says it's not equipment for this type of work.

    Thanks
    Best regards

If Ricoh have told you 280gsm media is too heavy to duplex you have got your answer.

You could try replacing the ITB assy. and the PTR, but you already know 280gsm is out of spec.
      256sm duplex limit.

Try raising and/or lowering the 2nd transfer current.

That's odd - is there any coating on the paper? How are the results if you print it from tray with proper thickness
settings twice ("manual" duplex). Does it make a difference if you run the job LEF/SEF?

If you print ("manual" duplex) prints fine. I tried to change SP 2523-04 but little changed.
Yes, it is not suitable equipment for this job, poor quality, density. But it's strange only in front print well.

the role is, xerox colotch coated 280g
but if you print only on the front it comes out fine. on duplex does not correctly transfer the toner to the paper on the second pass

Did you try adjusting paper transfer current for side 2 ?

BECAUSE...as Ricoh told you...the stock is too heavy to DUPLEX.
You even said yourself...single sided printing works fine.

Coated paper? Usually that's coated just on one side - would be interesting to know if the paper spec sheet says it's suitable for duplex printing...

I looked up the paper and it is coated on both sides.

Ricoh have already told the guy that the stock is outside machine spec and not to run it.
Yet here he is still asking for a workaround instead of putting the responsibility back onto the customer to find a more suitable stock to use.

Pretty soon it is going to jam in the duplex unit.

Of course there's no "success" guarantee, especially if it would work "now" but not in the "future" due to component age/wear. Still from tech technical point ofview I wander why it works OK "manual duplex" and not auto-duplex (giving he uses the same paper type for both) - at least I can't see any fusing offset and there's also no mention of jamming issues.
