[Misc] Ricoh MP C6503 Not Idling But getting to ready on screen.

    Hie all,

There is an MP C6503 that I am troubleshooting. The machine is switching on and gets ready. But, the engine is not initialising. No motors are turning at all. When you try to make a copy it will say please wait. No error codes are displayed on the machine. Checked SMC History and there are no error codes. The machine has done 350. I checked all the fuses on the AC Drive and PSU and they are working. What could cause this?

Yes possibly a HDD issue. Disconnect it & power back on the device will copy without the HDD connected.

I have removed the HDD connectors. The machine is still not working. It doesn't idle at all and no error codes generated.

"The machine has done 350". What do you mean is it an SC code?
Did you remove it because it wasn't formatted?

If the engine is not initializing, it has not come to ready as the fusing unit, which is part of the engine, has not started warmup. I am going to assume that 350 is a jam code. Any remaining jam anywhere in the machine or any peripheral will prevent the engine from initializing. Peripheral jam codes can also be a precursor to a Service Code. With the machine ON, open the jam door associated with the jam code. If there is a jam, remove it. If you do not find a jam, close the jam door and the SC will be displayed. If the C6503 has a mailbox installed on top of the finisher, I would start with it.

There is no jam or sc error, the machine is just getting to the ready state without initialising the engine. The mileage for the machine is at 350,000 prints.

Just because the Android Smart Operation Panel comes on does not mean that the machine is in a ready state. Can you access WIM from a computer? Have you even tried? Can you access the Service Program? If you can't, the GW controller is probably stalled. If that stall affects the communication with thee SOP, the SOP is not going to have an error to display. If you can get into SP Mode, use SP 5992-004 to export the Logging Data to a memory device and post that PDF here so we can review it and tell you what your real error is.

I can enter Service Mode. I will do the logging data export and post it tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion.
