Component Control on Ricoh MP C3004ex?

    Hi,

I'm a printer technician who is used to Xerox printers and there is a feature on some of those machines called Component Control - it allows you to switch on specific parts of the machine for troubleshooting i.e. switching on a motor.

I am working on a Ricoh MP C3004ex and there is a squeaking sound coming from the right side of the machine. Is there a way to troubleshoot exactly where the squeaking is coming from?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Go into service mode, find the Output mode, I think it's SP5804. You can run the different motors in Output mode.

Yes there is. First thing you need is a Service Manual.

If all else fails read the Service Manual!

If that fails, meet me at the pub and we will discuss it.

Okay, thank you very much! Found Output mode and was able to turn on some of the components individually.

if you can get it from ricoh. customer engineer tool. this is a special tool that will do what you are trying to do. but you will also need ricoh authorized access. this is a special tool for techs to use. if you are not a ricoh tech., then i would say you wouldn't be able to get it, nor access it.

try taking a look at this one, the model is the previous one, but the mechanics are the same, this could very easily be your case
