From looking at your print sample I would say the issue is with the transfer belt.
Take the unit out, remove & clean the cleaning unit & check for belt damage or a label stuck on the belt etc.

I did remove the transfer belt and it looked okay, but I did not remove the cleaning unit.Comment

Re: Ricoh MP C2004 registration issue?
From looking at your sample I would say that you have multiple problems. The color lines are most likely caused by a dirty cleaning blade in the ITB cleaning unit. If you don't fix that soon it is going to damage the belt if it hasn't already. You may need to replace or rebuild the cleaning unit as the blade might already be damaged.
Next you have a dirty ID sensor assembly, probably caused by the toner left on the ITB by the cleaning unit. There is a distinct possibility that just properly cleaning the entire assembly will pull the registration back in when pro con is ran at power up.Comment

Every time I have seen lines like that it has been either a damaged, nicks, or paper scraps on the blade.Comment

Re: Ricoh MP C2004 registration issue?
The colored lines don't go all the way to the edge of the paper.Comment

I just looked at the scans, the office crew did not clean the glass here are the revised images. The paper is running A3 though the copier. Sorry about thatTake 2.pdfComment

Re: Ricoh MP C2004 registration issue?
If the color squares sheet was initially printed LEF, a dirty ID sensor is still the most likely cause of the color registration problem. Forced line position will fail if the sensor is dirty.Comment

Re: Ricoh MP C2004 registration issue?
Where is the ID sensor located? I did vacuum out the copier, maybe I missed it. I found it. It's located above the transfer belt assembly, I will clean this as well.Last edited by copiertec; 10-10-2023, 12:15 PM.Comment

Re: Ricoh MP C2004 registration issue?
mamma mia! what a mess!...in my opinion there is something wrong there!...is the PM counter real?
however the ID sensors are the ones in the photo, you have to clean all 3 slides, then try to do this in sequence
sp 2-111-004 forced line adjustment
sp 2-194-007 check registration 0=ok 1=ng
sp 2-194-(010 to 013) check music result for each sensor
0=not executed
1=ok (they must all be 1!)
2=unable to execute
3=number of line less than the model
4=out of range
P.S
Personally, they seem like more PCDUs that need replacing

Re: Ricoh MP C2004 registration issue?
Considering that it is a MP C2004, the black PCU is definitely beyond PM count. The color PCU are at 63%, unless they do a lot of 1 & 2 page jobs in which case the distance count might be over 100%.
PCU (K) PM 60K
PCU (C,M,Y) 48KComment

Re: Ricoh MP C2004 registration issue?
From this sample it looks like the transfer belt is stalling. Take the unit out & check it turns freely by hand.
But as I said previously remove & vacuum out the cleaning unit etc.Let us eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow we may die!
