    Ricoh IM 2500-5000 Sc 142-12 Code

    Anyone having SC142-12 Codes coming up? There is a Bulletin that came out that said they were working on a Resolution but havent seen anything yet.

          Isn't SC142 an issue with reading the white band under the scanner glass ?

          Have you tried cleaning all the optics (lamp + glasses) ?

              SC 142-00 is. I have never heard of SC142-12 on ant model.

                  There is a tech bulletin on this. 3 steps, 1st reboot device. 2nd is to power it off, after power is off and unplugged push power button again to drain power supply, and wait 20 minutes then power it on. this usually fixes it. I have had this fix 3 out of 5 devices. 3rd is to power it off and leave off overnight. If it still has code, you will need to replace scanner carriage assy. its easy. D0DL1640

                      The step 3 I found in tech pub D0CC/D0CE/D0CF/D0CG/D0CH – 008 reads

                      3. Power off and unplug the machine.a. Press the power switch for 5 seconds to discharge.b. Install the new modified IPU Board, PN D0CH5651 c. Plug in the AC Power cord and power on.d. Reconnect Fax and Ethernet cables.

                          This is how I solved it on the phone a month ago... except unplugging the network cable
