IMC 4500 black fade

Hi guys,

I got one IMC4500 which have black fade issue

I did change complete PCDU where the pcu is rebuild while the dev unit is from other machine and tested with solid printout.

things happen when it can only printout around 5k BW and the printout started to fade again.
I bring back the PCDU and test the unit inhouse and i can see the toner bottle is rotating and the printout is black solid again

Is it have something to do with the toner? (compact,independent supply as the chip is not working)

If it does,do i need to cleanup the hopper from compact toner and change to original toner?

I dont see the hopper damage as there is no depleted warning at the machine

Had that problem once on a IMC2000 machine- long story short (several days), ended up being the laser unit. If you eliminate all the more obvious causes, consider this one.

is the part number for IMC laser unit same?
If so i will try to change this

optics are clean since i did do the calibration before leaving
firmware is updated

Charge them to replace the toner supply system every couple of months when it clogs.

Try with toner supply system. Had it whit MPC3003 and 3004. Looks like the same are in series IMC. Machine run with no errors, SC and even without low toner info. The problem was with toner supply system and broken spiral.

i did change this tonner hopper sir
and the old one i did open to see the spiral if its broken,but all are in good condition

but after changing the hopper i do the tonner force twice and initialize

for the time being the machine has run almost 2 weeks without a call from them

if it remain,i will throw away the hopper that i bring back (although by the look nothing damaged)

Check the black plastic pipe that run from the hopper down to the developer unit, it gets clogged.
