Hi Folks, we are seeing a large number of this model showing fuser jams and fuser "wraps". The fusers have no cleaning rollers and build up toner at the edges easily. We also have many of these giving various cluncking noises from the bearings and shafts. At present the only answer other than endless replacement of these jaming units seems to be opening up the lead and side edge erase to around 8mm, not very satisfactory but it does stem the jams. Any thoughts on these fusers would be appreciated.

Just come back from one of these (MPC5000). Ongoing fuser wraps on plain 80 gsm single side copying and printing when colour extends to the borders. The jamming is very repeatable and wraps/concertinas around orange heat roller. No problem when I increased lead edge erase from default (4.2mm) to 8mm - but cust needed edges as per spec (and fair enough). Tried new fuser - eaxctly the same. Ended up "adjusting" (bending) the tabs at each end of what I would call the stripper plate to set the gap between this plate and the heated roller to the absolute minimum. Now with default edge erase the jobs now run with no jamming. Will be closely monitoring this machine as we have many (dozens of this range) MPC 4000/5000 in the field and we are experincing a lot of fuser problems and jamming issues.Comment

Hi Does the MPC5000 have an oil roller like the MPC4500? I have had trouble with fuser offsetting and jamming, until I changed the oil roll and the pressure roll. Certainly will be interested to see how your ' fix ' goes, as that sounds like a simple solution, compared to the drama of a fuser rebuild.Comment

The MPC4000/5000 has many small differences, drums, devs, fusers etc all different. The fuser has no oil rollers or any other form of cleaning - just a heat and pressure roller, and quite frankly it leaves a lot to be desired!Comment
