    MP8001 SC551

Very intermittant but always the same code. Problem since install, now has about 50K on it now. Last time I was there I replaced both heat lamps, u-fuser roll and bushings, both thermistors (0131 and 0132) brackets, stats. Update the firmware to Eng P Sys D ADF H. Installed a line filer.
    Previously the BCU was replaced.
I havent made any temp adjustment yet because it isnt overheating, in fact it seems just the opposite.
This time it lasted 2 weeks.
It is on a dedicated power line but of course, I dont know if there are any sags.
Looks like they took the Phase/on-off adjustment off of this model (1104) or I would try that.
    Anything?

Apparently there are modified thermistor brackets, D062 4196 and 4197. Coupled with updated firmware to latest levels cures this so I've heard. Also try turning on fuser idling (SP1908), set SP1107-003/004 to 120 and set the energy saver timer to 240. Can't hurt to try!
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Looks like 1908 is for the 90 only. It has the new brackets. Idling is worth the try.

This should save you some work

Brackets are a waste of time, this fault is probably due to a build up of toner getting under the rear thermistor.
The thermistors on this range are a lot thinner and lighter than older models so suffer with this issue.

If you fit the AF2045 type thermistor (AW100052) you'll reduce this problem as its heavier and wider.

The centre thermistor has a 3 pin connector so you have to extract the pins and fit them into the existing connector, the rear one will fit ok.

Clean the fuser strippers and thermistors on every visit, that should help.

Shame you changed all those parts originally, there goes your bonus!
