[Misc] MPC 2050 Original size not recognized from glass

Hi guys,

we're having such a problem on original paper size recognition onto 2 MPC2050.
The problem looks solved by cleaning CCD but after few hours it came back.
We changed both optical sensors and re-cleaned CDD with no issue.

Any clue or advice.

May have something to do with the adf position sensor.

We checked ADF position and is ok.
Then we checked sp-4-301 and is looking strange...value is always "00001" even without paper on glass.
But sensors are new. Any clue?

I am not very familiar with this particular model, but normally on-the-glass original size is detected by the original length and original width sensors that are under the glass. There should be 3 length sensors and 2 width sensors. The CCD has nothing to do with it. As previously mentioned, the sensors are turned on by the ADF platen cover sensor. (open/closed). If your reading 00001 with nothing on the glass you have a problem with width sensor #2. Check your connectors or replace it.

I just picked up an MP C3500 to refurbish, and it had the exact same problem....updating firmware solved it.

That's good info. I have several MPC3500's in the field, but I've not run into that yet.
