This machine jams right at the exit rollers. POD1_N. Exit roller Motor is not turning. Motor is hard to find but should I replace it ? Thinking since it happened at once it is a PWB. I am trying to decide whether to tell customer to buy a new one... What could replace this machine like this Sharp. This is a workhorse...

You're right, that machine is a TANK. If you want to replace with a similar, newer model it would be the MX-M623N.
The newest would be the MX-M654N.

Are you sure it's the motor and not the paper delivery assembly? I've replaced COUNTLESS of those.

Did you run motor test in simulations? You could also disable jams in Sim 7 (?), and see if it is mechanical, or a sensor problem."You can't trust your eyes, if your mind is out of focus" --Comment

Re: AR M620U Jams right at exit rollers
Jam codes? If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: AR M620U Jams right at exit rollers
So I checked the bulletin boards. It seems this model has had a lot of problems with Pod1_N jams.
- MFP-TB-194: Changes to the Fuser Unit to Prevent Toner Spots, POD1_N Jams and L4-03 Error Codes.
- MFP-TB- 165: Change to the Upper CL Guide Plate to Prevent POD1_N Jam
- MFP-TB-038: Part Change (Section 48 Item 9) to Prevent POD1_N Jamming in the Fuser
- MFP-TB-039R: POD1_N jamming in the Process Unit Area
- MFP-TB-017: Part Change (Section 48 Item 12) to Prevent POD1_N Jamming due to UpperFuser Separator Pawl Breakage
- MFP-TB-007: POD1_N Jam due to Paper Catching on Drum Separation Pawl.
While I have never experienced any of these problems. Almost always for me it was the Paper Delivery and Fuser.
I would start with ZooTechs option and use aging to at least find out if the problem is mechanical or electrical. Run Sim 6 without Paper Del and Fuser.
My two cents: You said you tricked the paper del and the motor was not turning? The two motors that run the exit are POM1 and POM 2 (SM 6-44) They are part of an assembly that also drives the fuser (PM 89-1 #12) If the problem is not Paper Del and Fuser, then replace the fusing drive unit.
