Recharged AR-161 TD Cartridge--Cartridge light still on

Anyone have an idea why the TD Cartridge light continues to blink after a toner recharge? Looked at sim codes and didn't see a cartridge count reset option. Thanks

Pull out the cartridge & look at the white gear that drives it. The shaft is plastic and is broken. You have to replace the toner motor with the updated one that has a metal shaft. I can get it done in about 25 min now. First one will take you about an hour. Good luck.
    Hope that helps !

Yes, the drive gear is plastic, but there were no broken pieces or parts. Another post on this topic says it may not be mechanical but program code issue.

      thanks,

We've had probably over 100 of those in the field & have never seen one that needed an eeprom reset. I have replaced about 50 toner motors however. Your mileage may vary !!!
        Hope that helps !

Thanks Tony for your help. That gear is still good and got it to work just working the mg roller a few times. Good as new for now--will just have to wait to see how long that piece holds out.
