Anyone out there tried fitting a 2 1/2 inch sata drive in place of the standard 80 gb 3 1/2?

Just wondered if any of us were stuck needing a drive of the corrct form it could be a way out

Cant see why it wouldn't work. We have always had the correct HDD available/in stock when needed so I haven't tried yet. The first series MX is able to take any size IDE HDD other than specified size, and as the HDD's simply install and partition themselves, I assume it would be OK as well on the second series MX. Getting the screws to fit the HDD plates might be a challenge, yet if its only temporary to get the machine functioning... I say go for it!
