We have a Sharp ARM205 that when printing from the computer the prints look OK, the self-print tests (simulation 22-6) look perfect and scans look good when scanning to PC via the ADF feeder and then viewing. When you make a copy though, the copy (via the ADF and the platen glass) comes out stretched in the front to rear direction only with only about the top 2.5 inches of the original showing on the copy. In addition, it has repeating horizontal void lines in between regular repeated writes, similar to when the LSU is failing but the prints/self tests are fine (and LSU simulation test is OK). I was suspicious of the CCD or the PWB that runs/controls it until I saw that the scans look great.

Sounds like your opitcs are not traveling very smooth. Clean and lubricate the rails.Evil will always triumph because good is dumb.Comment

Re: Sharp ARM205 Copies Only Distorted
If your copies come out distorted at the trail edge front to rear then you have a fusing issue. there is an update adding shims to the pressure springs. The pressure is uneven in the fuser unit. Generally this happens on 14 inch paper. hope that helps.Comment

Re: Sharp ARM205 Copies Only Distorted
Dirty scanner rails, a cable problem, or perhaps a loose scanner drive belt could account for this. I had a Leopard once that the scanner drive belt jumped. The rails were clean and oiled, and I repeated it to be sure. The cables were not excessively tight. The scanner belt is tensioned by a spring. As an experiment I threaded a few self tapping screws through two convenient, unused holes, applied slightly more belt tension then secured the motor mount. AFAIK it's still working. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: Sharp ARM205 Copies Only Distorted
Customer wanted to replace copier and this machine will probably be scrapped, we never did get it to work properly at the shop. THANK YOU for all of the suggestions!
