Customer said this started after I serviced the machine a few weeks ago. When their I had just cleaned the pick-up tires on the adf. The problem now is unrelated. The paper will feed a few sheets normaly then "all of the sudden" seize up. I troubleshot this thing for a couple of hours and still cannot figure it out. Bad motor maby. That is what makes the most sense... Appreciate any help !!! Thanks so much

Re: Sharp AR M205 ADF keeps binding
I guess the easiest thing to do would be determine if your rollers are slipping or not turning at all. That should help you narrow down the cause. If they're slipping, no amount of cleaning will do and you'll likely have to replace them. If they're not turning at all, then there's another problem at hand.
I assume you've checked the paper path and found no obstructions? Have you changed the sep pad on it?Cthulhu for president! Why settle for the lesser evil? -

1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Jam code says -1 Nothing about it in AR R6 documentation. No obstructions in paper path. Wonder if pick-up assembly is binding somehow. I sure am having trouble pin pointing it if it's their.Comment

Re: Sharp AR M205 ADF keeps binding
These particular document feeders have two common problems:
The spring clutch that drives the feed roller tends to slip.
The registration roller gets dirty, and the paper slips against it.
In the first case, clean and re-grease the spring clutch.
In the second case, dis-assemble the DF to clean the registration roller. If you'd like a serious answer to your request:

Re: Sharp AR M205 ADF keeps binding
As Akitu mentioned, more info is needed. Does the pickup roller drop down onto the paper but not pull the paper in? If the pickup roller drops down, is it turning while it is down? How far does the paper travel when it jams? When it "seizes up", is there any noise indicating a bind in a gear or motor? There is a one-way clutch related to the paper feed roller that causes problems.Comment
