    C440

I have an es 453 with a c440 csl. The thermistors have been replaced twice and the copier ran about a week each time. Suggestions?

Check all the wiring around the fuser. Cut off the ties, and re-tie them. Toshiba always has tied to tight.

I replaced thermistors TWICE-still have 440.I think it's the SYS board but I'll let you know what the boys in the shop find out as we've given the customer a LOANER machine in the interim.

Hmmm if you suspect a board I would suspect the IH coil board or the Logic board before I would SYS. Or even power supply! It's not their wall voltage is it?
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.

Did you ever find out what caused the C440. If so I have a problem also with that error code.

Did you remember to reset the code after replacing the thermistors?

I have had problems with the fuser connector getting damaged with incorrect fuser removal and replacement. Poor connections causing "C" codes. Remove the fuser and inner cover and look for crackes in the shell. Emujo

i've also experienced C440, but somehow the power seems to trip a few seconds after i start the machine. suspect it was the fuser unit, tested the unit back in workshop, not the fuser problem. gonna try the power supply next.

You have a faulty power supply, and more specifically one of the triacs

Sorry, my post was not applicable to the 453, I had 3510C series on the brain. Emujo

it was the power supply problem

one thing to note is the wiring and connections. u have to check them properly, if they're too tight it might be the cause

                            I have a brand new 455 in the field that's thrown a c440 after 1 month.
So far I've put it down to dirty power on the local grid as I reset 08/400 and it hasn't returned.
