Re: Design Jet T120 Ink/print head error
if we replace the print head, what is the replacement procedure? will the machine recognize the new print head and give me promts? or is there a back door service entrance? thank you for your inputComment

Re: Design Jet T120 Ink/print head error
You tell the printer you want to replace the printhead. You remove the old one, insert the new one, put the ink cartridges the printhead comes with in, and close the cover.

Re: Design Jet T120 Ink/print head error
I don't remember the exact order of things but as long as you have the inks that came with the printhead inserted, then replace the printhead, you should be good.
The point of the included inks is so you don't run out of ink while priming the new printhead.

Re: Design Jet T120 Ink/print head error
okay just asking because the printer is in a state of error and wont do anything
There have been some instances this happened to me and I had to power cycle the plotter. When the carriage is in the middle of the carriage path, I pull the power plug so I can remove the inks and printhead. Plug the power back in and it will ask for supplies. Install the new printhead and the supplied inks.
This procedure is invoked using the control panel. If the plotter is errored, you can't start the printhead replacement procedure.Comment

Re: Design Jet T120 Ink/print head error
On the machines I worked on the plotter would not proceed with the printhead installation wizard unless you installed the four new cartridges included. You can re-install the partial cartridges later after you've used up the setup cartridges. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
