HP LaserJet M608 Tray 1 Disable

Is it possible to completely disable Tray 1?

I've googled this and all I get are HP Reps skirting the question offering workarounds (with drivers etc.)

I've got this M608 that sits near the floor at a nurses station. Some of the nurses like to print from Tray 1 for some reason and they leave the tray out. Other nurses walk by and trip over it. I've fixed it 3 times and had to completely replace it once. There is NO reason for them to even be using Tray 1. I'm ready to remove the front cover / Tray 1 assy all together and be done with it.

*edit* I've searched the onboard menus, and the web interface for tray settings, but all I can find are settings to change the size/type of media.

If there are shipping screw locations, you could conceivable re-install the shipping screws. Or MacGuyver something to that effect. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
