Alright have a 5000 that the fuser is not coming up to temp causing "ghosting". Brand new fuser(just put a MK in the machine) The thing that get me is when you print a config page no "ghosting"?????? Just so you know I have been through all the settings in the machine with differnt types of paper and such. Any ideas or am I looking at selling a new printer?

It would seem that the ghost image would be there on the config page. I would set it up to print 100 config pages. If the ghost is not there, reload the drivers. The greatest enemy of knowledge isn't ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge. Stephen Hawking -
I don't remember reading if you tried this, but did you try replacing the cartridge? Cartridges are just as likely to cause ghosting. Usually, I print a half page test, that is, I stop the printer when the paper is under the cartridge and not yet in the fuser. or examine the image on the drum. Additionally, try printing the menu map, instead of the configuration page. It prints 2 or 3 pages. sometimes ghosting doesn't occur on the first page but will after consecutive pages. Make sure you have a fresh ream of paper. Whether you determine it is the fuser area where the ghosting is occurring or the fuser and you are sure both the cartridge and fuser are good, the next possible causes are the power supply and/or DC controller. If it's in the cartridge area and you know you have a good cartridge, check the HVPS. It should be possible to get refurb parts, which can save your client money or they can opt to upgrade the printer.Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".Comment
