C250i fusing problem

Hello,

Several bizhub C250i sometimes have fusing problem, toner cannot fixed on paper.
check the unit is ok, increased fusing temp. but no luck
replace new unit solve it, what reason cause this?

Fuser life more than 70%

We have seen this a lot, the fuser units on the i series seem to be very poor. The only option is to replace it.

Hoping Konica Minolta come up with a modified version soon!.

I dont think it is a firmware issue but J9 is pretty old current firmware is N4. when you update firmware you also need to update function version. current function level is 2.1 you set it by setting sw25 to hex 30.
as far as fusing make sure paper weight is set correctly

Paper weight is correct, client only use 80gsm paper and plain paper is set on machine.

We have seen this a lot, the fuser units on the i series seem to be very poor. The only option is to replace it.

I've not had one last life yet, seem to have random blisters happening around the half way mark. Not impressed.

Not sure for this model but there is firmware for the 8 series addressing this issue mostly for 1st page after coming out of sleep mode.

Have you gone into the service mode and increased the fusing temp?

Aftermarket toner?

I've had that problem a couple of times on a C250i and I'm trying to get it from KM under warranty.

I've not had one last life yet, seem to have random blisters happening around the half way mark. Not impressed.

We also have a long wait to get them from KM. They simply tell us 'sorry we don't have an ETA'

Very poor UK dealer support.

I increased fusing temperature to +5 and +10, same result, genuine toner is using.
After print 2 pages , i check fuser side temp. it dropped to 8X degree and than raised to 11X degree.
tested same method on one C224, the temp. stayed on 12X degree.

In addition i found, print color page is ok, print black documents mostly have this issue, all toners are genuine.

We had exactly the same problem. We swapped the Belt and Pressure roller and Lamp from working fuser and still black wouldn't fuse and colours were fine.

We replaced the Themistor and seems like it is working now.
