Went to Walmart last week, paring lot full!!! Store packed!!! Masks? one here, one there, son went to local county part last Saturday, 2-3 hundred people out there, families, bikers, walkers, just a lot of people! Wife and I were wondering where all the darn traffic was from, considering the first 2-3 weeks, the streets were dead, think people are just getting used to whats going on and assimilating to it. Business is also seeing an uptick, which is good. God Bless America!

I have been seeing them on all the local TV news most of the week. Most of the Kern County medical community considers them idiots. Of course many of the residents consider the "spokes persons" for the local hospitals idiots.

USA Today Fact Check Confirms Hospitals Get Paid More if Patients Listed as COVID-19, on Ventilators

Dr. Scott Jensen, a physician and senator in Minnesota, appeared on The Ingraham Angle on April 8 on Fox News. He made the claim that hospitals get paid more if Medicare patients are confirmed to have COVID-19 and get three times as much money if they use a ventilator.
This claim began with Jensen's appearance on Fox News, but it was also published on April 9th by The Spectator, a conservative publication. Snopes fact-checked this and called it a "mixture."

On April 15, Jensen took to Facebook to bring up the topic again:
TRUE ruling on their fact check that hospitals do get paid more if patients are listed as COVID-19 and on ventilators:
Hospitals and doctors do get paid more for Medicare patients diagnosed with COVID-19 or if it's considered presumed they have COVID-19 absent a laboratory-confirmed test, and three times more if placed on a ventilator to cover the cost of care and loss of business resulting from a shift in focus to treat COVID-19 cases.
This higher allocation of funds has been made possible under the CARES Act through a Medicare 20% add-on to its regular DRG payment for COVID-19 patients, as verified by USA TODAY through the American Hospital Association Special Bulletin on the topic.

She added that South Dakota managed to cut down the number of COVID cases by 75 percent without hurting its economy. So far, the state has had a total of 1,800 coronavirus cases and nine deaths.
Noem said her trust in the people of South Dakota has been a decisive factor in defeating the virus.
“And as soon as the President was on national TV asking the state and asking people to stay home, they did that,” she explained. “He asked us to stay home for 15 days and without any mandate and forced business closures or shelter-in-place orders in South Dakota, the people of South Dakota did a responsible thing and they stayed home.”

Here is a brief article. Read the first four paragraphs. Clearly New York and California are using vastly different methods for reporting COVID-19 deaths. How can anyone not believe that increasing the number of COVID-19 deaths may create an avenue for states to receive a larger portion of federal dollars. Already some states are complaining that they are not getting enough of the CARES ACT dollars because they are having significantly more proportional COVID-19 deaths.

Here is how USA Today came to a TRUE ruling on their fact check that hospitals do get paid more if patients are listed as COVID-19 and on ventilators:
Hospitals and doctors do get paid more for Medicare patients diagnosed with COVID-19 or if it's considered presumed they have COVID-19 absent a laboratory-confirmed test, and three times more if placed on a ventilator to cover the cost of care and loss of business resulting from a shift in focus to treat COVID-19 cases.

Am I understanding this correctly? They (doctors/hospitals), have patients that die and are ruled to have covid-19 get more money even if the true cause was old age, heart attack, stroke, etc.? And, even more money if they were hooked up to a ventilator? Sounds like greed to me and even criminal if that is true!
