    ooooh!, poor bloke.....
It work for Mercedes-Benz with their 'D' series (diesel engine) vehicles for many years.
IMHO I believe the above vehicles are all worth the same value you described.

You have to give it to Nissan though, the Pintara,Skyline series of motors where good for 500,000+ klm.
I must admit, I ran a 5-speed Nissan Pintara into the ground with 500K+ on the clock, an the engine was only just showing a hint of blue smoke oil from the tailpipe when the wrecker guy drove it away. I purchased the vehicle as a Used car with 100K on the dial. I put a new head on the engine, because the previous owner didn't know what radiator inhibitor was used for, and then drove the car for years without another spanner on the engine. My three boys all own the same car during their teenage years and the motor and gearbox survived those 3 rev-heads. With Hind-sight I'm impressed with the Nissan engine in the Pintara/Skyline series back in their day.

I believe the same Nissan engine went into some of the FORD's in some models. 4 door Telstar was it ?

Guys used these gearboxes and still use them for all kinds of builds.

I've never forgiven them for inflicting the 120Y, 180B and other rusty pox boxes on the world. They had to change the name from Datsun to Nissan as they were so embarrassed.

haha... Good old Dato-120Y, I believe it had independent suspension in the rear end. The only vehicle that could drive down the road with its rear wheels running 120 degress to the center of the car. That's probably why Datsun called it the 120-Y. If you invert the letter "Y" upside down you understand the angle of the rear wheels as the POS drove down the road.

It was pretty windy here today, and a large box clocked me in the eye this morning and now I have a shiner.
It stung like the dickens initially, but now it just looks stupid.
