I bought another antique radio. The Craigslist add said "Old Zenith radio, volume stuck on high", and I thought to myself, "Well, I can't turn that down."The greatest enemy of knowledge isn't ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge. Stephen HawkingComment

Re: The random thought thread
If your basement gets damp or has water leaks from the walls or the floor, hydraulic cement can work well for plugging that up. Just make sure to follow the directions closely, or you'll end up with something with the consistency of milk, which isn't helpful even a little bit.Comment

Re: The random thought thread
And now, the reason I brought up damp basements - my water heater was apparently leaking then. While at that time it was just a negligible seep, there was a river of warm rusty water running across the basement floor this morning. Blegh.
So the guy came out and installed this:

(the picture is sideways for some reason, sorry)
A single sheet of 8.5x11" paper taped to the thing for scale. The thing's a freaking monster, 71 gallon capacity if the EPA label is to be believed. I can sell hot water to my neighbors! Or get a girlfriend, I guess.Comment

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
