He was shamed from the public eye for speaking about the global climate changing by people who believe the dinosaur bones were planted by their invisible friend who claims to have written a book.

Wait ..... I remember .... he's the guy that drives around in a convoy of big GM ( Government Motors ) SUV's that get about 6 miles to the gallon and talks about cleaning up the environment , and wanting people to stop wasting fossil fuel ( He was shamed from the public eye for speaking about the global climate changing by people who believe the dinosaur bones were planted by their invisible friend who claims to have written a book. If I'm not mistaken, at one time the consensus of the scientific community held that the world was flat and that the Earth was the center of the Universe. Consensus is not science, it is faith. The Scientific Method does not validate Mr. Gore's faith. I'd be more inclined to consider Mr. Gore's faith if his lifestyle more closely reflected his deeply held beliefs....

I would contest that under the oversight of the church, and with limited technology, that this was the best conclusion they were allowed to put forward. The church had to approve of anything being announced to the masses so they could keep their death grip on the fragile minds of simpletons.

This was a time where only the absolute wealthiest received any sort of education (hello scholars, priests and royalty), so for the most part knowledge of the world was irrelevant to the masses as they only needed to know how to tend the fields and animals, or at the very least the profession they were born into, eg. a barber raising his child to be a barber.

To call that a scientific community isn't wrong, but to say it was anything resembling what our modern scientific community represents is.
The comment I posted was more a knock at the people who claim everything in the bible is written fact, it would appear some of it may have not been taken as advised with a grain of salt. Alas, you are correct in that it was once a commonly held belief, but keep in mind this was a time when science was at its infancy and under the supervision of the same sect of people who still operate the world's largest cult.

Yet the deniers (heretics) were eventually able to prove their case(s) using the Scientific Method, not consensus..... Point taken!

When anyone is trying to tell you "this is the only way things could have happened" it should be taken with a grain of salt. Whether it be from religion or science. There is a lot of shit made up on both sides. So, choose your faith.

Suffering from raging Spring Fever today - it's sunny, 50F, and there is melting going on like crazy. I have raked out one of the more sheltered flower beds (daffys poking up!), tried to poke into the compost pile (still frozen solid), and bought a nice variety of non-GMO veggie seeds, which I will get to stare at for the next few months.... I just couldn't help myself. I think I will burn some brush whilst enjoying a cold one and a nice Dominican (cigar) this afternoon. More snow predicted for Tues and Wed.

Similar day here in Bugaha. Broke 40 today with 60 expected for the next couple days! I got the canine fertilizer cleaned up and rebuilt the barbie so it's functional again. Was a good day til the kid came home with a vehicle pukeing coolant.I know what I'll be doing tomorrow. Wouldn't mind a good Dominican...............

You know, if that was a study of how many people in my outpost out here on the perimeter believed that (last census said there were around 2500 people in town) it might be worthy of consideration, but compared to the population of the United States, or the entire Earth for that matter, it seems to be a pretty worthless study done by lazy people. Although it is kind of dramatic, which makes it somewhat entertaining, so it isn't all bad.
