      Re: Canon service support tool

      Good evening guys,

I'm a firefighter who bought a Canon 5185 for our end training school to handle all the materials we print. We are a low profit school and got this at a steal from a town auction ($100) yes you read that right.

We got nothing at all in support, materials, help, anything.

I'm trying to get this machine up to speed software wise. Took a week to get it online, another two days to get the email send working. Now I'm trying to use Fiery vue and can't until I upgrade the software to 2.0

can someone please help me figure out what's needed to ensure the machine will take the 2.0 upgrade. I see this sst stuff and got confused.

I have all the 2.0 stuff for the h1 but don't want to start something I can't reverse.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can be emailed at goodloffg@gmail.com

Thanks for all your help on here.

          Thanks for the help --

I did what you said, and heres what I got:

          DC-CON: 61.02
          R-CON: 02.03
          SDL-STCH: 04.01
          MN-CONT: 66.05
          RUI: 65.13
          LANG-ENG(FR,DE,IT,JP): 66.05
          MEAP: 66.04
          BOOTROM 51.01_C
          CNT-Type: 432

So, any suggestions how to upgrade this - is it even possible. Im very tech savy, was a DELL,HP field tech before becoming a firefighter. I looked o n the Canon website and didn't see anything about upgrading firmware for a download.

Can anyone assist? Unfortunately only thing I can offer are FD T-Shirts I do appreciate all the help I've gotten on this site, you guys are absolutely great.

          Thanks Gary
