Can anybody help me I searched forums, but couldn't possibly find a Canon IR 3045 SST, and tell me what is the process to setup a new HARD DISK. The existing one is broken and needs to be replaced. I dont't have any spare available in the country and need to do it myself.

1. u need toi buy a Canon OEM HDD -------WM2-5230-000
2. u need the 3045 v33.03.01 firmware
3. u need to install Canon SST program on PC/Laptop.
4. u then need to download & then register iR3045 v33.03.01 firmware into SST
5. u then connect PC/Laptop to printer (w/crossover cable)----power on the iR with 2 & 8 keys on the control panel pressed until "Download mode" is indicated onthe LCD display. This will boot the iR with a fixed IP address of 172.16.1.100 and subnet mask of 255.255.255.0
Now give your laptop/PC an IP address of 172.16.1.10 with subnet mask of 255.255.255.0

6. open SST> search in it's menu for iR3045 firmware
7. select SINGLE in middle menu to format HDD
8. then u can run START ASSIST to finish firmware download



The HDD must be formatted while inside the printer by using the iR3045's SST Registered Firmware > HDFormat file.
On the newer model machines, you must connect to the device in 'Single Mode' to format the HDD with the HDFormat file.

After format> u then install the complete 3045 sst registered firmware.

Not sure if anyone is responding to all these requests but I'll put mine in anyway... Totally confused by all the drivers on the Canon site for this machine - sheesh, do you have to be an engineer just to use a copier or printer these days?

Anyway, I'm chasing the SST & firmware for the IR C2880 PUH LEESE and Thank you.
