The fuser rollers don't seem to be turning, entire system functions well and a few times, when make booklet - (2 pages of 11 x 17 to 8 page 8 1/2 x 11) - when clearing the jam it was the second sheet that jammed. Rollers just seem to stay put. When turned manually they move properly and the lubricator is good.
IR 550 jams at fuser rollers - simple cure?

I'm guessing by the nice pic that this is a jam 010B. Common causes for this particular jam code are:
Broken front heat roller collar. Substitute NP-6060 heat roller collars (FC1-9409-000)
defective bed fan FM7 (FH6-1549-000)
shorting separation transfer charge unit, causing paper to rid up the drum.
=^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I took of the control module and the gear seems tight and turns the rollers back and forth solid. Just to be sure we are talking the same thing I took a pic. Also one of the module. Do these screw up like this, does a copy or two then stops? I have two machines for parts so I am able to do parts changing as a poor method of troubleshooting!ir 550 ufr gear.JPGir 550 ufr control mod.JPGComment

Usually you'll get an E014 if the fuser motor is dead. Usually when the motor fails, you'll get a complete copy job of any number of copies, but when the motor stops it stops on a dead area so it won't restart rotation. It's kinda like a bad starter motor on the car.

Okay, I changed what I thought was the fanir 550 fan.JPGand also changed the motor module that drives the fuser. I ran one copy off and it worked fine so I set it for 5 copies and on the second it jammed again, seems it will do one copy at a time but not two.ir 550 jam 2.JPGComment

You need to go to service mode and check the jam codes to see if you have delay or stationary jams and at what sensors. Make sure the key on the gear is in the slot of the UFR. And as blackcat mentioned the transport bed fan could be defective or you don't have any separation on charge unit.Comment

Hi, thanks for all the input. Here is what I found on the error code and jam code, that I think is relevent.
Jam
1112 0 010B 3
1113 0 010B 3
Err
1103 0015-0000
1104 0015-0000
Right now I am using an older machine printing 11 x 17's by scanning 2 8 1/2 x 11's, taking the copies back to the tray then doing a second side, then doing it again for the next inside page, and on and on. Then folding by hand. I sure would like to figure out whats wrong with the 550. It is so much cleaner and faster.Comment

Here are some pictures. The gear and key looks good (if this is the one you were talking about)ir 550 brown gear.JPG There are two fansthat might be the ones you were asking about one in the back, which I changed already looks like thisir550 fan 5.JPG and one in the front to the lower left of the brown gear here, ir 500 fan 3.JPG the contacts all look good and clean and I am assuming this is what is meant by the 'block'? ir550 end block.JPG Kay so now that I have the whole thing in pieces???
I remember having some trouble with the lubricator film a few thousand copies back, it seemed as if it wasn't moving, would stick in one place. I'd get dirty copies, open it up roll it manually ahead, clean up the toner and roller a bit, then it would be good again.
Just more info to try and narrow this down.
Thanks
