Re: C258 Change Drum Units message with 30% life remaining

@CompyTech: Yes, the account track settings are set on the driver settings and I also enabled "Print without authentication" for guest devices.

@copier tech: I have about 20 pcs connected to this unit, each with its own password, so I just wanted to redo the account track so people start using it right away (the driver is set to remember the password and not to display the authentication window), this is why I jumped to do this.

But I also enabled print without authentication, which worked great for me before this Drum Unit and Factory reset (as he called it) mess. I could print from my phone with no password entered...

I will try tomorrow to use a network cable to connect straight to it, as CompyTech suggests and see how it goes.

Can someone please help me with the animation file and maybe a firmware, so I can be prepared for tomorrow, because I hate that message and led blinking continuously telling me that no animation is available.

Agree, big mess here no way TC get lost and no serial without some interesting interventions. Maybe we miss some previous actions, board change or so.
Anyway author you have big force behind you right now, CTN community. Just don't rush and don't do any unnecessary steps.
Check in CE mode that HDD is enabled. Next go and export MML lists to Flash drive then you can send us S1 file to check soft switches.

            Hello,

I tested and tried all your suggestions, here it goes:

            - Direct Print from the web interface its not working, same symptoms, nothing reaches the printer, no blue leds
            - Disabled Account Track, no luck, same symptoms
            - HDD is enabled in CE mode
            - After enabling Administrator Level 2 access from CE, the serial is now printed
            - Printed MML from CE mode, tried to write to usb, but all i get is an empty file (fat32 formated stick), so here's the link to the scanned file

I wont do anything to it until you guys advise me to do it, so ill wait patiently for your input.

Thank you all for taking time to help me, is very much appreciated!

            LE:
Nothing was changed in this unit before this K drum unit, like hdd, boards or stuff like that, just toner cartridges and wtb (all of them oem)

            LLE:
Connected to the unit directly with a brand new, tested network cable = same symptoms, nothing printed, no job log and no blue leds. I also tried Direct Print from the web interface, same stuff.

Your FW is old G00-S1. You may need newer. Also try different USB stick as I need P12 soft switch settings in file to compare against default values in case any switch is wacky.

I tried again with 2 different USBs, now i don't even get that empty file. Formatted as FAT32, is that ok?

This is the menu I use, it says "Saving" for a few seconds, then "NG" is displayed.

Looks like right one, check that USB function is enabled under:
                  [Utility][Administrator Settings][Security Settings][USB Connection Permission setting]

I'm going to send you PM later.

I checked everything to "Allow" and rebooted the unit. I want to mention that sometimes i'm unable to access the Administrator settings, because the button is not displayed on the printer screen, so i have to reboot it (power off/on) and the button suddenly appears.

Still nothing written to 3 separate usb devices (tried FAT/FAT32/exFAT).

Another question, your machine network port has 2 LEDs, is there any activity, it's very rare but not unheard that part of MFPB where network is tied may get damage from unprotected ports and outlets.

You are using the usb port by the control panel right?
Make sure that wire goes to 'front usb' on the mfp side.

tsbservice: Yes, the network leds are showing activity, both orange and green one.

No, I'm not sure what he did to "Reset" the unit, he just told me he will do a "factory reset", but I didn't watch the screen to see exactly...

Synthohol: Yes, I used the USB port next to the panel, and I can see it on the screen, as it shows External usb or similar, so the machine is reading it. The cables runs exactly to the Front USB port next to the network one. I tried all those USB ports down there also, but nothing gets written...

I have no choice but try a firmware install tomorrow, I got version G00_E1, I don't know if it's newer or older than my current one, but I can simply can't stand next to it anymore and wait for a miracle.

looper, if you decide to do FW, first check your PM as I sent some links to you.
At that point I certainly will do clear all data as "tech" visiting you may just wipe HDD...

Simple question. Can you print a document from a USB drive?
                                Or scan to it?
                                Whatever
