Change the company banner on C454e

We had a customer that give us a working C454e with a bunch of toner. Don't know why but we have it. It has been decided to make this the company printer until we run out all the toner or until it crashes.

I was trained on this series long ago so I have been able to get it on the network. I have also been set up scan to email and scan SMB with no problem as well as printing. Its up and running on our network.

What I have not been able to figure out is how to change the company banner that pops up when the machine starts up. The owner of the company really would like that changed (gee...I wonder why). However, I cannot seem to fine it anywhere in my notes or what to search for in the manual. I know it has to be a certain file size and and certain name. I also guess I need to make the USB port active, so if one can let me know how to all this, it would be really appreciated.

From the top of my head it's called bootup screen. You can delete it from service mode.

If you just want to delete it:

1. Enter service mode
2. Select system 2
3. Select customize screen
4. Select BootUp Screen
5. There should be a delete key somewhere on this screen if memory serves correctly.

I am having two problems. When the machine goes to sleep, printing to it doesn't wake it up.

I have a couple of users that like to scan to a USB memory stick(why?....don't know). Doesn't seem to be working on this machine. I think there's something I need to do to the machine but I can't find it or remember where to look.

Disable sleep mode. First in service mode system 1 under sleep on/off choice set it to permit. Then in admin mode under maintenance select timer and turn off sleep mode.

i never met a konica that didnt screw up coming out of sleep.
disabling sleep mode is the best advice you have received.
