    KM C368 Error CD-011

    Hi Guys,

    Error code CD-011
HDD Formatted, HDD Replaced, Trouble reset, Initialization done.

    Recovery firmware is not updating.

USB is 8GB and working. Tested in another working machine. Firmware update screen shows up after few seconds. But in faulty machine it doesnt show. Waited so long. Even left for hours but its not updating the firmware. It stays on the boot screen.

    What is the solution Now?

    Thanks

can you boot into trouble reset or enter service mode from there?
can you disable and remove the hdd cables and try again?
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
    The medication helps though...

Yes, I have tried removing the HDD cables but it didnt work.

I can go to service mode through trouble reset mode but cannot from the main menu when the error code occurs. I have also tried disabling the HDD.

Strange thing is one USB with the SATA recovery firmware works fine on other 8 series machine (which are working fine without HDD error) but on these machines with C-D011 its not taking firmware. Why...........???

I have the firmware; I have the USB. Doing exactly what KM says but still not working. I am looking for solution. Is there any other way to fix this problem?

I have 3 patients crying to be cured.

          Replace HDD.

When they say replace HDD, they mean brand new HDD or the working HDD from a working machine? If a HDD is working fine in another machine of the same model without any error code then it should work fine in the faulty machine? right? But it does not work. It works for few hours for few days sometimes, but it will through the same error code for sure.

So what is the permanent solution? 😣

I have tried many times. But it did not work. It does not boot and stays at 4 pillars. This code is driving me mad. Now I have 4 printers to fix with same fault.

Are you performing the steps correctly?

                  Using of SATA recovery tool
                  1. Detach HDD and set in Service Mode HDD = unset
                  2. Confirm the main switch is OFF
                  3. Insert the <USB-SATA recovery> USB memory into USB slot.
                  4. Turn Main SW ON while pressing the "Stop" button.
                  5. After approximate 2 min message “ SATA FW Update completed successfully”
                  6. turn the main SW off/ on
                  7. Please check that new version of SATA Controller FW is now A7AH0Y0-6403-G00-04
                  8. In case of stuck at two bars, please use SATA Controller update firmware
                  9. In case of "SATA FW Update completed Failed." Replace MFP board

You can use a new or used HDD. If you go the used route, you need to connect the drive to a PC and delete the partition table before installing it in a different copier. Copiers don't like drives with data from a different machine on them. If after doing that you get an error again, either the drive you used was on it's way out or you have a problem somewhere else, like cables or MFPB.

Thank you for sharing such a valuable info.

I wasn't doing like this. HDD was attached and installed. Every time I try to update the firmware I mean Sata recovery firmware it was stuck on bars. I left the machine for hours but nothing happened. Then I tried different methods. Opening the front door and turn ON switch by pressing stop button, same, opening and closing side door, same.

I will check now by detaching and uninstalling the HDD first. I'm much hopeful it will work like this.

I have two type of firmwares, SATA Recovery and SAtA maintenance.

They say for CD011 error code use the recovery firmware and if error code is not occured yet use the preventive firmware.

*SATA Controller Update Firmware and SATA recovery firmware both are same or different?

                      Many thanks 🙏

                        Thanks for your reply.
I didn't try this option. I was installing used HDD pulled out from a working machine and testing in the faulty machine.

I will first do the steps doinbox mentioned. Hopefully it will resolve the issue. I will keep in mind deleting the HDD partition before installing in another machine.

                        Thanks once again 👍

HI Mate, just attaching this flowchart which may help too and it shows in which situation you would use the different firmware tools depending on your issue.

Its quite helpful. I am thinking in the chart its mentioned Sata Firmware. Which version of firmware is the sata firmware? I have non sata firmware.
