Konica Minolta C454 after change MFP board error C-D291

Dears we change the C454 MFP due to the old MFP network port not working the network status led always on even the network cable disconnected . we purchased new MFP board that board always shows error C-D291 , we try to update the firmware then we get error message (invalid external memory).
the firmware usp work very well with old MFP board.
    any suggestion please.

    Ohhhhh no.

I had to do this once, and only once for a device that got hit by a lighting strike!!! Exactly the same issue, ethernet port dead, copier fucntional.

If you have not followed the procedure detailed in the Service manual as well as the additional Technical Bulletin you may have turned your machine into a paperweight.

There were detailed instructions on how to do this, including a special pre-boot firmware that had to be used in conjunction with the MFP Reset Tool.
This invloved booting the machine back to KM factory, which causes the display language to revert back to Japanese and other wonderful steps to follow.

If you have just physically baord swapped the machine and turned it on I am so sorry for you and the pain you are going to have to go through to ressurect your device.

    Good luck.

Make a small donation to this website and PM me your email. I will send firmware to cleanse the MFP board and instructions.

Ok, I sent it even though I don't see site contributer under your name. What you sent me shows you made donation then canceled. I will not send anything else until I see "site contributor" under your name. DON'T ASK! Best of luck

K9 firmware is so old that it is no longer available through the KM USA website. Anything newer should also contain the necessary files needed to work with the newer CCD. If you still have a copy of the GR7-M0 firmware, that is the newest available.

Was the MFP board you installed new? If not, you will need to make sure that the machine type set in the board matches the model of the machine you installed it into. Unfortunately, you need the ability to boot into the firmware update screen in order to do this.

If it was a used pull, and came from a different model of machine, give this a try. Just note that I have NEVER TRIED THIS, so it may not even work. Try booting the firmware for the model of machine that board came out of, instead of the machine it is in now. If it does boot to the firmware update screen, DO NOT LET THE UPDATE RUN! Use that to change the machine type, then boot again with the correct firmware and hopefully it will go this time around.

My Ricoh knowledge is slowly dwindling away at this point. Many things have been lost to time...
