8 and 9 series hard disk

    Hello,

The 8 and 9 series need to replace hard disk with new one by KM?
I installed used hard disk, machine displayed reformat or input HDD password.
I tried to format on service mode, start key is blue, press it but no reaction.

Are you trying physical or logical format? I would try physcial but keep in mind it takes a long time to format.

There has been posts on this forum about HDD passwords

No need for a new one. If you are using a used drive, just make sure that it is at least 320GB and that it is blank. Attach it to a PC and delete all the partitions on the drive, then reinstall in copier and it should work. You will obviously need to format it in the copier as well, but there shouldn't be any issues if it's blank. We do it all the time when a drive fails.

I tried format on both service and admin mode, when I pressed start key on service mode or OK key on admin mode, the machine don't work anything and freeze, need to ON/OFF it.

may have hadd bizhub secure on it but try this HDD Lock Password

Use the last 6 digits of the serial number twice followed by 8 zeroes. An example for the bizhub C360 serial number is [020866]. (Do not use the item number A0ED012 portion.)

The unlock password using the above example is 02086602086600000000.

Put Disk i Computer and use HDD low level format tool to format Disk.
You not need to complete format because is need long time, wait to 10% and stop.
Disk formatted like this is acting as new

Put in a SSD and you wont regret it. Works good and more stable. I put in 500gb PNY SSD's . You can get them on Amazon for around $30.00 US.
